For Your Pleasure, Thursday 6 - 8 pm eastern, CFMU FM 93.3 http://cfmu.mcmaster.ca
there is no radio show show this week due to some painting & renovation work in the on air studio at CFMU and my inability to get pre-record anything my self.
however ...
while performing some very mundane tasks at my regular day job on Tuesday 9 April I had a flash of inspiration and wrote a few words I thought I'd share with you.
the last line came to me first and from there things took off
thank you Billy Bragg, the Calgary Herald & Margret Thatcher
I wonder now where did it all start to go wrong
I thought it was love but, I suppose it waas only infatuation
I"ll never forget that perfect spring day we first mey
On the Common as it started to turn green
Those first nights we spent talking movies, politics, philosophy
and making love
The magic summer we spent in that book store flat
Saturday mornings shopping in the market,
afternoons naked on the roof
She covered the walls with her poetry & art,
so vibrant and bright
Then autumn came and my beard began to grow
There was still fire in the air but,
the flame was fading as the days turned dark
And then when she left ,
she burnt my favourite pearl button shirt
